LCA SWIMMERS RACE TO STATE RECORDS/GOLD MEDALS!

Three LCA swimmers competed in the TAPPS State Finals last Saturday in San Antonio.  Divison I St. Michaels freshman
Trey Kilbride won a bronze medal in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 59.83.  Trey finished 11th in the 100 Butterfly (1:00.35)
and participated in 4th place finishes in the 200 Medley and the 400 Free Relays.

Regents senior Lauren Malachowski brought home four golds, with 1st place finishes in the 100 Freestyle (52.21) and 100
Backstroke (58.17) as well as the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays.  Lauren now holds the TAPPS Division III state record in
both the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke.  Lauren's 400 Free Relay team swam to a new state record as well.

Sophomore David Reinis, also swam to a gold medal for Regents.  David placed 1st in the 100 Backstroke with a time of
55.91.  David  earned a silver medal for his 50.58 performance in the 100 Freestyle race, and a 3rd place finish as a
member of the 200 Free relay.
