At age 8, Coach Dan found swimming and never looked back.  After swimming all through high school and competing as a distance swimmer at the Division III collegiate level at Amherst College, he decided he just couldn’t resist the lure of the pool.  He spent three summers coaching Coveleigh Country club in Rye, New York where he helped lead the team to three conference championships and two county championships.  After moving to Austin in 2005 , Coach Dan found a job coaching masters swimmers at Westwood country club.  Enjoying the job but missing working with young swimmers, he was finally able to find a home here at Lost Creek.  Now he works predominantly with the gold and DT teams, but also helps with national and bronze teams when his hectic schedule as a 1st grade teacher allows it.   He has been here for one year now and looks forward to many more successful seasons.
